Gold Tops Blue in Delaware High School Football All-Star Game

It was a record-setting night for Lake Forest High School's Quadir Bryant on Saturday in the 56th annual Blue-Gold All-Star High School Football Game at the University of Delaware.

Bryant rushed for 240 yards in the Gold's 39-14 win over the Blue Stars.  Bryant broke the game's rushing record of 204 yards by Wilmington's Charley Cox that stood since the inaugural game back in 1956.

It was the Gold team's first win since 2005.

Day Steps Downs as Red Lion Christian Academy Football Coach

After three successful and controversial years as head football coach at Red Lion Christian Academy, Eric Day has stepped down.

Day, who guided the Lions to a 23-7 record, resigned Friday saying he wanted to spend more time on personal growth.  Day and the Lions would have been the top seed in the Division II playoffs last year, but the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association put the coach and the school on probation for excessive practices and playing too many games.

Red Lion Christian also made national headlines when its 8th grade quarterback verbally committed to USC.
